Why Do You Wish To Enter The Wood?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Why do you wish to enter the wood?
\nOnly fools go in,
\nand none come out.<\/p>\n

Only those who wish to die,
\nwho no longer deem the world
\nto be fit,
\nand children who cry,
\nfor mothers, at monsters, and
\ndemons all,
\nventure into the wood.<\/p>\n

There is no fame,
\nglory does not exist,
\ngreed is useless,
\npride is left behind
\nin the wood.<\/p>\n

Nightmares are born,
\nDreams are lost,
\nHope resides,
\nFear chases
\nwithin the wood.<\/p>\n

The trees sway in the whispers,
\nthe whispers of those lost in their souls,
\nsouls twisted by the words of the mind,
\nthe wood is their home.<\/p>\n

The critters,
\nbrought by those before you,
\nfallen from their pockets,
\nare the cruelties of mankind,
\nscurrying throughout
\nthe wood.<\/p>\n

Will you still go into the wood?<\/p>\n

Aegnor and Andreth<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The agony of Aegnor and Andreth was shared,
\nto be sundered by seas of sorrow and time.
\nAegnor and Andreth, their anguish in love,
\nthe Elda and Adan, the Elf and Man.
\nOne minute they mingled, a moth and flame,
\nthe next was dark as night in Thangorodrim.
\nTheir love flourished, a lonely flower
\nin the North in an Age of neglect and anger.
\nYet he did not marry the mortal, even so they mingled in love
\nwith caresses, cuddles, and kisses. They gazed
\ninto each other\u2019s eyes and saw there
\ntheir future and fate fulfilled\u2014their love
\nwould last not long, nor linger through Ages
\nsave in a song. Their sorrow was decided
\nwhen leaves fell from boughs. Not like L\u00fathien and Beren
\nwould fare their fate; they would fall in death.
\nBy the lake they lay with link\u00e8d hands
\nin Taur-nu-Fuin, the terrible forest.
\nThe stars stretched across the straits above
\nand shone sickly shadows on the lovers.
\nAndreth was mortal as all Men are
\nand her life and love would leave Aegnor
\nalone and aching through the Ages. His lover said:
\n\u2018Elda, we Edain age and go grey,
\nwe crease and curve and crack with the years.
\nWill you greatly grieve or give me a hand
\nwhen my body breaks? Or will you bolt, ashamed?
\nMy death will be dark for you, dearest Aegnor.\u2019
\n\u2018Andreth,\u2019 said Aegnor, \u2018my Adan, I love you
\nyet our love cannot last. The lust of war
\nbids me battle. You are no Beren, nor I L\u00fathien\u2014
\nour fates are sundered by the fathomless Sea.
\nI must leave you, my Adan, and love you no more.
\nI fear that death will be my fate on the battlefield.\u2019<\/p>\n

Andreth was alone and angry with her fate.
\nIn her friend she confided, Finrod the brother
\nof Aegnor. He listened to her anguish and comforted her.
\nHe said: \u2018Aegnor loved you and only left you
\nin greatest need. He girded his sword and
\nhis flame flitted away, fast on the wind;
\nbattle beckoned, his blade hungry
\nfor Morgoth\u2019s minions to massacre justly.
\nHis love for you will last through the long Ages
\nthough his spirit will be sundered from your soul and body
\nand dwell in the dark until the Days are ended.\u2019
\nHer dearest died defending Beleriand,
\nwhile she lingered on lone and loveless in the North.
\nDestiny decreed their different fates.<\/p>\n
