Jason writes: Last night on Conan O’Brian Ethan Hawke spent his entire time on the couch praising the Lord of the Rings films and how he is an avid reader of the books and an admirer of professor Tolkien. The interview was very funny, and although I like David Wenham, it did make me wonder how Ethan would have been in that role (rumors ran abound years ago that Ethan and his then-wife Uma Thurman would play Faramir and Eowyn).

Andrew writes: The Astor Theatre in Melbourne will be screening TTT on Thurs. & Fri Jan. 8&9, followed by ROTK on Friday January 23rd with a starting time of 7:30Pm for both films. It will be screened on the Superscreen which is pretty massive in DTS Digital sound. Astor is at 1 Chapel Street Prahran, Melbourne and is a beautiful art deco film palace dating back to the 1930’s (state of the art screening technology though!!!). [astor-thatre.com]
