The Fellowship of the Ring was by far the most popular movie at Box Office Mojo in 2002, making up a whopping 15.7% of all the traffic to the movie pages. It handily beat Attack of the Clones (9.0%) and Spider-Man (8.8%). The Two Towers ranked fourth at 3.5% despite only having two weeks of playtime, compared to the full year for ‘Fellowship and about eight months each for ‘Clones and Spidey‘. [More]
Just a little note for all Irish Ringers that The Two Towers was number one in the Irish Box Office as of the 10th of January according to The Irish Independant, and grossed an extremely respectable 451,381 in that week – over 300 thousand more than second-placed Sweet Home Alabama.
