It was a male and female duet, if that’s the proper term, and the pair was skating to bits of Howard Shore’s “The Fellowship of the Ring” score! The Polish pair scored within a range of 4.9-5.4 in all categories. Having just received my Collector’s Gift Set in the mail, complete with excellent new additions to the score, it was a nice little touch to make this Tolkien fan’s day complete.

I don’t know what the prospects are for LOTR fans elsewhere, but in NZ and Australia it seems that some cinemas (Auckland, Wellington) are putting FOTR (not the extended version) back on the screens before TTT comes out. Check your local listings. Andrew in Australia reported that he saw FOTR again with the longer TTT preview tacked on the end, as a bonus.

Asarina sent in this account of how the members of the Rochester Line Party and some Harry Potter fans got together and had a whale of the time, despite their loyalties to their respective franchises. [More]

Emails have been coming in from fans who would like to pass on their concern and their best wishes to John Rhys Davies. We all hope he will recover soon from his accident. If anyone reading this has a way of contacting him, please let him know that he has a lot of well-wishers among the LOTR community who offer him their support.

It’s available in the video game section at Toys R Us stores. Also, a magazine called “Fantasy Worlds” has a really great article of LOTR:TTT with many, many pictures, cast bios and character descriptions, and a long fold-out poster of Frodo. Great stuff here!

I’m not sure if other people have seen them as well, but the one I saw basically just had bits and pieces from the trailer, finishing with “IN CINEMAS BOXING DAY”. Very cool stuff!
