Played by: John Rawls
Name: Yazneg
Date of Birth: Unknown
Race: Goblin (Orc)
Date of Death: Unknown
Alignment: Evil
Children: Unknown
Description: Goblins and Orcs (Tolkien uses the terms more-or-less interchangeably) are typically described as ugly-looking with flapping flat feet, yellow-fanged, black-blooded, cruel, wicked, and bad-hearted haters of the sun. There are breeds of different sizes; some are dark-skinned and large with broad flat faces and eyes like coals while others are short and broad, with crooked legs and arms that hung almost to the ground.

Yazneg

We don’t know much about the character of Yazneg. We know that the actor who plays him, John Rawls, was originally cast as Azog which was changed at some point during production. We do know that Yazneg was cast for both Hobbit movies (before it became three Hobbit movies). With a name like Yazneg, we presume his is a goblin/orc. Speculating: since the goblins that the party encounters in the Misty Mountains are presumably all perish when the party escapes, and Yazneg appears in at least two of the three movies, Yazneg may either be a goblin of the north who is involved in the Battle of Five Armies or a goblin of Moria who survives the battles with the Dwarves and possibly joins the northern goblins to exact revenge.

We also know that the character name, Yazneg, was  trademarked by the Saul Zaentz Company in July 2012 related to  games, playthings, dolls, etc.. So, a Yazneg action figure may be in our future!
