Is there any way to read just what people are writing and not have to scroll past activity reports (such as ”X and Y are now friends” and ”B became a registered member”)?

Okay, I removed friendship statuses…let me ask around about the other stuff…like for instance ”just became a registered member” or ”updated his profile picture”.
