Reminder: Today is final day of very limited Line Party commemorative pins

Longtime partners and friends of TheOneRing.net, Badali Jewelry, have created a limited number of special pins to commemorate the fourth edition of world-wide Line Parties (LP4) to help fans Celebrate the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The pin, in design of Bilbo’s door at Bag End™, reads “I Was There, TORn Line Party 12/14/2012.”

Today, Dec. 31 is the final day these pins will be for sale.

It is cast in solid bronze. It retails for $30 and is only available until December 31 in very limited quantities. Ordering today will likely get the pin in your hands before Line Party events on 12/14/2012. After that, the pin will stand a permanent reminder of participation in a world-wide celebration of Tolkien fandom.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that The Noble Collection has been granted rights to make products from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and “The Hobbit: There and Back Again.” Noble will also be expanding their already fantastic “The Lord of the Rings” collection. Noble’s offerings will cover collectibles like prop replicas, artifacts, miniature-sized collectors swords and a full range of jewelry. Prices of these items will range from $20 to the neighborhood of $1000 with these items starting to ship in September of this year.

The Noble Collection Also Expands The Lord of the Rings Line

Consumer Products (WBCP) announced today that The Noble Collection, a leading maker of fine collectibles, will expand their stunning collection of merchandise to include fantastical offerings inspired by the upcoming films, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again, as well as The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The Noble Collection, known for its imaginative products across many collectible categories, will develop prop replicas, artifacts, full and miniature-size collector swords, and a full-range jewelry line based on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: There and Back Again and The Lord of The Rings trilogy. The collection will also include a finely crafted collectible chess set. The two films based on The Hobbit, from Academy Award®-winning director Peter Jackson, are set to open in December of 2012 and 2013, respectively, and are productions of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).

The Arkenstone of Thrain was created and treasured by the Dwarven Longbeards clan of the Lonely Mountain. The Arkenstone was described by Thorin Oakenshield as “a globe with a thousand facets; it shone like silver in the firelight, like water in the sun, like snow under the stars, like rain upon the Moon!” When Bilbo Baggins discovered the Arkenstone on the top of Smaug’s treasure horde, “it was tinged with a flickering sparkle of many colours at the surface.” The stone filled his tiny Hobbit hand, yet he was able to secret the Arkenstone away in his deepest pockets.

The Arkenstone replica is made from fine K9 Crystal which has been treated with an Aurora Borealis plating, giving the the orb a magical glow. The stone exhibits a variety of color depending on what type light its under. The Arkenstone replica comes nestled on a black velvet pillow inside a Dwarven crafted wooden treasure chest. The runes stamped on the name plate on top of the chest read Arkenstone, written in the same Dwarvish runes found on Thorin’s Map. The Arkenstone measures approximately 59 mm (2 5/16″) in diameter — big enough to fill a Hobbit hand, but small enough to hide in a deep pocket. The chest measures approximately 4 1/8″ long, 4 1/8″ wide by 4″ tall (104.3 mm x 106 mm x 100 mm). The Arkenstone replica and Dwarven treasure chest weigh approximately 3/4 pounds (12 oz.).
