Lord of the Rings trilogy to screen in Brisbane

Ringfrodo Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (affectionately known as GOMA) will be screening a series of films between January 8 and March 9 covering the topic Myths and Legends.

Among those being shown on the screen at the GOMA Cinematheque will be Peter Jackson’s Fellowship of the Ring (Feb 21), The Two Towers (Feb 28) and The Return of the King (Mar 7).

‘Myths and Legends’ continues to explore the powerful relationships between classic folklore and modern cinematic storytelling, incorporating renditions and reinterpretations of classic tales, as well as contemporary accounts that translate mythic metaphors into unexpected genres, such as film noir, science fiction, adventure, drama, romance, comedy and the western.
