Wellington Airport spokesman Greg Thomas has confirmed a second “large, majestic” Hobbit sculpture, created at Weta Workshop in Miramar, would be unveiled inside the terminal on Tuesday morning.
The airport already has a large sculpture of Hobbit-character Gollum chasing fish, which hangs above the food court. The new sculpture would not replace it, Thomas said.
He would not comment on what the sculpture would be and, when asked specifically if it would be the dragon Smaug, would not say.
