Tolkien Sat, 06 Apr 2013 15:54:52 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.5.1 http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2012/04/23/55334-55334/comment-page-1/#comment-24211 The Real JRRT Tue, 24 Apr 2012 03:58:00 +0000 http://www.theonering.net/torwp/?p=55334#comment-24211 Apparently everyone has missed what The Hobbit was about.  Tolkien wrote the story for his nieces and nephews, and was not meant to be the adult story that later became LOTR.  This is an abomination that people are so easily sucked into the world that PJ has created without stepping back and realizing it is not what JRRT intended.  The Hobbit was meant to be, and still remains, a children’s tale.  The dark ominous foreboding that is indicative of LOTR, was not what JRRT had in mind when he wrote The Hobbit.  It should be clear as night and day when you read The Hobbit & follow that up the LOTR The Fellowship of the Ring.
