There'll be 2d also. PJ and probably every other movie maker today knows that lots of people won't see a movie in 3d and that there will be a huge cut in the box office if a movie is shown only in 2d. I personally, plan to see it in both, as will many others. Yet another reason for the movie to be released in 2d and 3d: More $$$. :)

Strange.
Surely he knows that doubling the current standard cinema framerate wouldn't improve the experience as much as it would be visually noticeable?
Switching between "3D-channels" for the left and right eye occurs (i believe) 144/sec.
That is only 6 cycles/sec.
Wait a minute... should doubling the framerate, and thus doubling the cycles, give people less chance for headaches? In that case, more people could see this and upcoming movies in 3D since this kind of tech would usually be applied to future movies.

*sigh* So I guess those of us who can't watch 3D - of which there are millions - will be left out in the cold. How nice. Why directors are getting behind technology that shuts out so many viewers, I'll never understand.
