Martin Freeman – Martin Freeman Feels No Hobbit Pressure
Martin Freeman does not feel under pressure while filming his iconic role as Bilbo Baggins in ‘The Hobbit’ as he considers it to be director Sir Peter Jackson’s ”film”. Martin Freeman does not think ‘The Hobbit’ is his film – despite being the lead star. The British star plays the part of hobbit Bilbo Baggins in the Sir Peter Jackson-directed ‘Lord of the Rings’ prequel, and he admits after a long time filming he does not feel worried about taking on the character.
He said: “I honestly don’t feel that pressure, no. I really, really don’t. It is Bilbo’s journey, but I didn’t write it. I’m not directing it. It’s not my film, It’s Peter’s film.” However, he reveals it has been tough for him to do a good job when he is covered in “snot and mud” during the New Zealand-set shoot. He added to Total Film: “The hardest thing is staying up and peppy when you’re covered in snot or mud, day after day. I’m sure there’s more to come.
