I am a fan like everyone else, but I have to admit that the overwrought tone of the news piece is very amusing.

“The very world itself exploded when Sir Peter Jackson arrived at the comic book convention today.”

I was at the premiere of King Kong in NYC many moons ago, and that was a hoot and a half. But I remember when it became known that George Lucas was in the theater with us, people went running over to see him like he was giving out hundred dollar bills. Whereas he was, in fact, just a little guy eating popcorn and trying to watch a movie.
