Loews Waterfront 22 - Pittsburgh area

Everything went off approximately on schedule. We saw the preliminaries which started approximately 30 minutes before the film. The questions this time were new - as were some of the images, and some PR for the Onering fanclub was shown (it was omitted before the TTT showing). PJ came on some 5 minutes prior to showtime. The theater was filled and the audience well behaved. The film was very engrossing, emotional, and entirely enjoyable - despite my having seen the theatrical version and the extended version on DVD many times. I was surprised that the movie took slightly less than 4 hours when I expected it be much longer (i had the same reaction to the TTT). Still, I can't any scenes that were missing from the DVD versions.

Cinemark Fayette Mall Lexington, KY

Me and my friends have been making the 2 hour trip to this theater for the past 3 weeks and boy has it been a blast. Getting to see this epic trilogy on the big screen again was amazing and the extended cut was just a bonus. RotK was amazing the picture quality the sound everything was great, a perfect conclusion to an awesome trilogy. I am only sad that we may never get to see these on the big screen again. Other than that bring on DECEMBER 2012!!!

I live in San Jose, CA. I was able to watch ROTK at the theater down Santana Row, my friend and I dressed up as Elves myself from Mirkwood, and she was from Edhellond. I'm surprised that there was only one other person dressed up. Our Theater had technical difficulties and the movie was delayed for an hour. Thankfully the theater was able to get the movie to work and I was able to watch the Extended Edition on the Big Screen. And cheer in happiness to see it in the size that makes it so epic. When the Hobbit movies come out, I will go to the first showing in my area in costume. Cannot wait for December 2012! <3

I cannot tell you how AMAZING it was to see Lord of the Rings (especially the extended versions) on the big screen!! Back when LOTR first came out my parents thought I was too young to go to theatre. I cannot believe that I was able to after around 8-9 years!! THe best part was the cheering and reaction from an audience FULL of FANS!!! I was able to start a few applauses myself when favorite characters showed up :D My life is changed (that's cheesy) because this is my dream fulfilled!

Saw it at AMC 24 in Hamilton NJ

I saw all three of LOTR at the Cinemark Theaters in Robinson Township, PA. Theater only sat 130, but the seats are the greatest. (high backs and "cushy" leather). All three shows were sold out. Lots of people drove an hour or more to see them. All of the movies were beautiful!! I had seen each one enough previously that I had time to really look at all of the details of scenery, miniatures, and make up, etc. They were flawless! Even though I have seen all of the details from WETA on how they did this or that (on the dvds) I'm still in amazement at the great job each person did in their job to make these movies look so realistic. It was a thrill to see them on the big screen. Hopefully, this won't be the last time this occurs. The fans were probably the politest audience I've seen in a long time. As a friend said, "They were very reverent". You could hear a pin drop it was so quiet (except, of course, at the appropriate times for laughter and clapping. A most enjoyable experience!!

Saw it (as we did the first 2) at the Loews Rio in Gaithersburg MD. THIS time there were NO glitches! :) And 3 of the 4 of us that when have seen all of the movies countless times. This time we could point out things we had NEVER seen before. The biggest standout was seeing the king of the dead on the Dimwalt Road appearing to Aragorn while he was staring down it - before he actually went down it. None of us had ever seen that. We were all "OMG! Did you see that?? I've never seen that!" Blu-ray makes a world of difference.

There were only 5 of us who dressed up, but we had a fantastic time. There is so much beauty and excitement in these films, particularly this one. Peter Jackson is an amazing director. It was so much fun to pretend we were hobbits all through our Marketplace before hand (running on asphalt chattering about 'the black lands'...barefoot) and to munch on Lembas bread during ;-D
The only downside was a highpitched buzz I've noticed before in Billy Boyd's song. I was hoping that maybe the remastering would remove it, but sadly it didn't.
Other than that, IT WAS SO AWESOME!
