I can’t believe they opted to put the extras on a GAZILLION DVD’s. AGAIN. They could have put each movie on one Blu-ray disc, and the extras on one (or a few) Blu-ray discs. ASININE. >_O

Why are there five discs for each film instead of four? What’s on the extra disc?

Exactly. Why would I want to buy this set to have the exact same special features on DVD that I already own on the DVD:EE!

I wonder if there is going to be another set out with just the movies. I don’t need to double up on special features and DVDs.

From that picture, it looks like the film will be split over two discs just like the DVD

It looks like a nice set but I still think I’m going to hold out until after The Hobbit is released. I’m sure there will be some kind of “ultimate” box set.

Seems like nothing new. And the extras are SD, and the movies are over two discs which is disappointing. No new commentaries, outtakes, deleted scenes, blooper reel, 10 years on, teaser previz to the Hobbit, etc.

If all the extras are SD, why not put them on one single Blu-Ray disc, like the Aliens Quadrilogy did with the main four feature-length documentaries?
