It’s confirmed now that Persbrandt will play Beorn. And dont’t you guys listen to all the swedish no-sayers here. Persbrandt is a very competent actor and will suit just fine as Beorn. It’s true that he often is typecasted as a rough, macho kind of guy, but that does not deny the fact that he will be a great Beorn with his low, humming voice.

I question the source. Bad reporting in any language is questionable. Cate Blanchett is not official and possibly won’t return at all (since her role technically may not even exist in the script), and it isn’t a “sequel”. And where in the text was a role ever described as “Nordic”?

This story may not be true. Especially since its Aftonbladet and no direct source for the story. Aftonbladet is a tabloid so until someone from the studio confirms it. Its not true.

Persbrandt is a classic shitty actor from Sweden whos only ability is to say “vafan”(“What the hell” in english) multiple times.
He is also a famous alcoholic who got fired from the royal theater for
being to fucked up.

Sure, Persbrandt is quite good, but he’s only good about 5% of the time. Ever watched Tre Solar for example?
Plus, i’ve only heard him speak english once, but he was utterly terrible at it. I’ve a hard time seeing how this will be good. But, oh well, his part will be quite small seeing as he is only shooting for a couple of weeks.
