If I’m not mistaken Peter said that Richard’s casting is in line with casting Vigo and Orlando Bloom, and if I recall correctly they were allowed to maintain their looks. He’s making a movie with the intention of attracting audiences besides avid readers “The Hobbit”‘s , so providing the audience with some “eye candy” will stand to reason. This leads me to conclude that his look in the film will be on the attractive side.
