Anthony & Jessica from the Northeast Tolkien Society write: We wish to take a few moments to update you on new details regarding our August, September, and October Tolkien-related events in the New York City area. Our new website has all the pertinent info in our upcoming events section. We are one week away from our Sunday, August 15th Summer Harvest Picnic!! (1pm-5pm The Conference House Great Lawn 298 Satterlee St. Staten Island, NY 10307). Understandably some of you will be away at the Festival in the Shire event taking place across the great pond, but if you are not we hope to see you next week!
September 26th, 10th Anniversary Celebration
The details for our September 26th 10th Anniversary grill luncheon has been updated to reflect our menu and requests from our host. The location is a private residence, therefore the address WILL NOT be publicized on the internet. If you wish to attend our event in Long Island, NY then you must RSVP no later than September 17th, reply to this email, for disclosure of this address–we will assist you in figuring out your travel plans, either by car or public transportation
We are only able to host 15 people, and a modest contribution of $10 will provide you with steak, salmon and grillable vegetables (zuchini, peppers, asparagus, tomatoes) and prepare salad. Plus wine (white & red), beer (Samuel Adams), fruit juices (apple, orange) and water.

A short 5 days prior to the 2nd of the LOTR Concert Series, The Two Towers at Radio City The Northeast Tolkien Society will be meeting in the back room area of Fiddlesticks Pub to discuss as a whole the events of The Two Towers Book and Film, plus everyone’s plans for attending the LOTR Concert on October 8 & 9.
Bring your copy of The Two Towers, be prepared to read and discuss your favorite moments from this chapter in Tolkiens epic!
