McKellen’s King Lear Will Now Open at the RSC in May
The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that the postponed press night for Ian McKellen’s King Lear will now take place as a matinee performance on May 31. Shakespeare’s tragedy will be followed by an evening performance of Chekhov’s The Seagull, also starring McKellen in the role of Sorin. The two plays, both directed by Trevor Nunn, will run in repertory at Stratford-upon-Avon’s Courtyard Theatre until June 23. [More]
