From tvnz.co.nz: The 3D animation company Weta Digital has landed work on James Cameron’s first major film since Titanic. Cameron’s new project Avatar is a science fiction film which pits a human army against an alien horde on a distant planet. Cameron has told The New York Times the film will test new technologies on a scale unseen before in Hollywood. He says Avatar will go even further than Lord of The Rings in making a large cast of virtual creatures who convey emotion as authentically as humans. Avatar will begin shooting in April with a $295 million budget.
