The producer of the “Lord of the Rings” film trilogy _ who showed off New Zealand’s natural panoramas to the world _ is planning to shoot a US$15 million (€11.5 million) movie about a romance between a local taxi driver and a beautiful Westerner blossoming on the bustling streets of the Thai capital. More than 100 friends, family and film industry luminaries gathered at Waitakere City Council’s Henderson Valley Studios to hear Lord of the Rings maestros Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh extolling the brief but brilliant career of Cameron Duncan during the opening ceremony for the studios, which are to be named after the young film maker.
