Toronto’s Mirvish organization may be on the brink of winning rights to a $30-million (U.S.) version of The Lord of the Rings — the most expensive musical in stage history. If negotiations succeed, it would open next March at Toronto’s Mirvish-owned Princess of Wales Theatre for an indefinite run.
