Christine writes: LOTR fans in Alberta might want to know that the November 2003 Issue of the Alberta Motor Association’s Westworld magazine has a big article on LOTR-themed tourism in New Zealand called Outtakes from Middle Earth. It’s on pages 50 – 55 and gives a great overview of the islands, the various movie locations, and all sorts of useful info on planning an LOTR themed trip. The writer seems to have spent quite a bit of time there, doing all the tours and things herself. She even found an Orc extra and interviewed him about his experience.

Last night TVNZ’s Holmes programme spoke about Cameron Duncan, a young film maker who died yesterday, tragically young, but not before making some inspirational short films. Included was a moving tribute from Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh who knew Cameron and had been keeping an eye on his career. [More]
