Ringer Lonestarr reminds us that young ringers with an acting bent who live in the Los Angeles area have an opportunity to become involved in the Patricia Gray-authored stageplay version of The Hobbit. The Canyon Theatre Guild is holding auditions tonight (Monday, August 4) and also on Tuesday, August 5. Monday’s auditions are for children aged 15 and under only. The Little Haven Hospice for Children, Essex UK, offers respite to children affected by life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses. A recent addition to the hospice’s facilities is an enchanting Hobbit garden, inspired by Tolkien. The garden is complete with a replica of Bag End, and a rosewood statue of Gandalf. The garden offers a place for children and their families to both rest and play.
