Harry at AICN is running the story currently spreading across the ‘Net at the moment that an image of Shelob’s lair appears in The Two Towers Creatures Guide – which would suggest that the very last scene in The Two Towers is of Sam and Frodo entering Shelob’s lair – possibly with a hint to Shelob herself waiting in the wings?
