‘The date of the Oscars could be changed from March to February. At a meeting of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science’s Board of Governors, they discussed the idea of moving Hollywood’s big night forward. It might also allow the Oscars to get one over on some of the competing awards shows that have been trying to steal its thunder. (At least MTV awards got it right! – S) Although there appears to be support among several board members for the change, if any changes do take place, they are more likely to happen in 2004 than in 2003.’ [More]

‘Hollywood has already begun talking about possible nominees for next year’s Oscars. About A Boy is said to be generating a buzz, with Hugh Grant and Toni Collette as possible acting nominees. Insomnia and Minority Report are also thought to be possible winners of the Best Picture Oscar. Tom Hanks and Sam Mendes are thought to be good bets as nominees. Other possibilities include The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers, Gangs Of New York, and even Eminem’s acting debut, 8 Mile.’ (The Academy couldn’t rob PJ two years in a row…could they? – S) [More]

Attached is a scan of my ticket to the Two Towers wrap party in Wellington tomorrow night not sure if it’s a Weta-only (art department) party, or if it’s all cast & crew and my ticket came through that department. Big party – put it this way, it’s from 8.00pm Saturday to 8.00am Sunday! Wonder if they’ll let me take a camera in kinda doubt it, though. Can’t send you the back of the ticket with the location (and bar code & serial number, that’s the problem) but I’m looking forward to the best / wildest / loudest dressed awards at THIS gig!
