I guess I’m the first TheOneRing.net staffer to wake up from a night that was absolutely amazing. Not to gloat…but when Tolkien fans get together to party, they REALLY know how to party. Oh, and did I mention ALL 4 OF THE OSCARS were at the party? Full details to come.

We congratulate all of the winners, the cast and everyone involved with this wonderful film for their resounding success and accomplishment. In the next few days you will see hundreds of pictures, countless reports and as many video clips as our (soon to be retired) server can handle!

Thanks to all the TORn fans who made this party a success. Thank you for being part of our family!

Another big thank you goes to to the folks at Badali Jewelry who made “Good Luck from TheOneRing.net” broaches for the cast and crew. If you looked closely you could see our broaches on Peter Jackson and Jim Rygiel! [PJ’s Pin] [ Jim’s Pin!]

And finally, please support the people who made this party possible. Without the generous support of Sideshow/Weta, EA Games, Decipher and the Official Fan Club, Houghton Mifflin and Royal Selangor this party would simply not have happened.

So folks, get ready for the barrage of Oscar coverage this week. And PJ has personally assured us all we will be loving the new trailer this weekend!

Praise came from far and wide tonight for Kiwi winners in the Academy Awards in Hollywood, after New Zealanders took five of the top honours. [More]

Heh.. you gotta love a country that has a Lord of the Rings minister.

Some of Hollywood’s most famous and powerful figures — not to mention hobbits — walked away losers Sunday, drifting back to their limousines without the golden statuettes that mark the industry’s highest honor. [More]

The folks from PVPOnline are obviously as disappointed about Lord of the Rings not winning Best Film as we are, according to today’s comic. [More]

With the Oscars over and behind us, we have something to look forward to not five days away…the release of the Two Towers trailer! And Moriarty from AICN mailed me to say that he has indeed seen Friday’s trailer, and wrote up a report on just what we will see in a few days time! [More]

Well for those of you who didn’t see the entire Oscar broadcast or followed our online coverage for the entire five hours or more here’s a short summary. LOTR:FOTR picked up the Oscars for Make Up, Cinematography, Visual Effects and Score but unfortunally lost in the other, sometimes bigger, categories which adds up to a total of four Oscars out of thirteen nominations. A Beautiful Mind snatched away the Oscars in most of the important categories such as Best Director and Best Film. There were some surprises and some disappointments but I guess we have one advantage over the rest; we can try again next year! On Behalf of the TORn staff congrats to PJ and crew with the four Oscars and goodnight!
