The Lord of the Rings is all the buzz these days. . . and since Tolkien is not around to comment on this renewed interested in his work we’ve asked the Ballantine/Del Rey authors to send us their thoughts for a special Tolkien issue of the DRIN (Del Rey Internet Newsletter).
Most of the responses we received were positive, but we got a few surprises too. One author told us he can’t “stomach the stuff.” (Read on to find out who.)
And Arthur C. Clarke says that Tolkien personally showed him the man who may have inspired it all.
