That’s right! If you missed seeing our exclusive pix of the movie production that were shown at ImagineCon and Cond’Or, here’s another chance! TheOneRing.net will be presenting a session or three at Dragon*con 2000 in Atlanta GA June 29 – July 2. Our sessions include “Tolkien and the Web,” “Secrets Revealed,” and also a couple of “Tolkien Trivia Contests.” We are always in search of fresh trivia, especially now. If you have a great question, please check Barliman’s page here for more info on categories and how to submit.
We are happy to be part of America’s largest fan run sci-fi/fantasy con and TheOneRing.net will be there in force… Calisuri, Corvar, and myself have all made plans, as well as at least one Barliman’s regular. If you are close by, check the convention out. It promises to be unlike anything you’ve ever attended before!

An alert Tolkien fan spotted this at the Barnes and Noble website – it’s the chance to advance order ‘The History of the Lord of the Rings.’ It’s by Christopher Tolkien (natch!) and it details the history of the books from their inception to their final form. It promises to offer many early drafts and unpublished passages. It’s coming out in September, but meanwhile you can check it out here. Thanks to Matt for that!
We’ve got a pile of links to interesting Tolkien-related books here, just while we’re on the subject of books.

Christopher Lee (Saruman) was a guest on TV Guide Channel’s “Insider”. The majority of the conversation was about his upcoming BBC movie “Gormenghast”. There was brief mention of the Lord of the Rings movie. Check out www.tvguide.com/channel for a video clip. I assume that it is the same clip that was broadcast on the TV Guide Channel. For those who don’t have/know what TV Guide Channel is, it is basically a screen divided in half, with the bottom a continous scroll of what is currently on all the cable channels and the top is used for advertisements and TV Guide’s featurettes like “Insider”.
Click here for the clip (RealPlayer is needed). Note: The clip was not working for me, maybe you’ll have better luck π
