Ian Mckellen won best actor for is work in ‘Gods And Monsters’, Straight from BBC News:

Sir Ian McKellen and Emily Watson, who both missed out on Oscars earlier this year, have won major acting titles at the British Independent Film Awards…

Sir Ian, star of Gods And Monsters, beat off strong competition from Michael Caine and Ray Winstone, last year’s Best Actor winner…
