The Blood Letting
Slowly the thin metal
tube moves forward
I turn away and
suddenly feel the sting
Then I quickly look back
in time to see the red
The red flies up
the conduit twisting
My hand contracts
and the red quickens
Life ideas hope draining
from me into the bag
Then the bag is full
and the white lady returns
She removes the metal from
me and bandages me too
Finally feeding me
and sending me away
At a latter time and
date when someone needs
my life ideas and hope will
flow through the conduit again
Joining with theirs and
strengthening them
I am glad I had
the life to spare for them
