All Hallow's Eve

Wearing a cream dress
straight out of the twenties
With both the hat and
the jewelry to match
She is a true vision
in this sea of falseness
Many of the people here
are improperly packaged
Men dressed as women
with anatomical correctness
Women dressed as men
becoming their own nightmares
Men and women dressed
as nothing in our existence
But the woman is the center
of my attention
All others float on the periphery
like the carnival they are
Then the man, her man,
appears blustering like a bull
It is then that I wonder
how opposites attract
And if possibly that
I am her opposite
Then I leave the party
fearing one thing
That what I saw as true
was false instead
