The Desolation of Smaug was a very good movie on its own, but when putting the book and movie together, there are way to many changes. The Tauriel and Kili love story sort of got on my nerves when I first saw it, but by the end I was okay with it. The White Orc should not have been added to the movies. He existed but had already died by the time Bilbo and Co. was on the mission. He shouldn't have been brought back. Overall the first part was a little dull, but it got really good throughout the movie.
