 Rings!

From the begging to the end I was entertained, thrilled, and once again enchanted by Tolkien's world of Middle Earth. Every second of the film was simply spectacular. There would be fun moments like the barrel scene, meaningful yet dark moments like when Bilbo killed the young spider, as well as times of beauty like when Bilbo was up in the treetops of Mirkwood, watching the sun and looking out to lonely mountain, while a large group of wonderful blue moths flew out from the canopy, and there were simply glorious moments, like when Smaug saw the giant statue of the dwarve and started at it, memorized, until it burst and he was drenched in molten gold. It was a horrific, yet spectacular scene when a golden Smaug burst out of Erebor.
Another thing I loved about the movie was how it linked all aspects of the story. Now we know what Gandalf did for so long when he disappeared. Adding in Legolas made complete sense, seeing as how he would be there. Including Radagast and any actions of the white council. Along with having Sauron, which was amazing since he was mentioned in Fellowship of the ring as being in Mirkwood at the time, but the actual expanding of that aspect of the story was brilliant. I also really enjoying Tauriel, who was a very strong female character.
All in all, a spectacular and memorable movie! It greatly represented the book. I loved it. Definitely the best movie of the year!
