 Rings!

A good overall movie, but I felt like it wasn't really The Hobbit anymore, more of a fanfiction. The Tauriel/Kili romance was completely unecessary, and there were so many things taken out:
-The dwarves entering two by two into Beorn's house
-Didn't Bombur eat some of Beorn's honey? The who Beorn scene was cut short
-The dwarves didn't tell Thranduil that they were starving!

There were also some additions that I didn't understand:
-Azog chasing the dwarves through the whole movie
-Kili got shot in the leg with a Morgul arrow???
-Him and three other dwarves had to stay in Laketown.
-The way that it was "Tauriel to the rescue" with the athelas was overdone
-The way Thranduil talked to Tauriel about Legolas was rude and didn't portray Thranduil well

But, of course, there were many good scenes!
-Walking through Mirkwood was very mysterious and clever!
-Bilbo peeking through the trees was amazing
-The spiders were incredibly well done!
-Anything that had to do with Smaug was amazing, and he looked great!
-When Thorin doesn't let Bilbo go without the Arkenstone, that really captures Thorin's greed.
-Hiding the dwarves in Laketown (and Dwalin coming out of that toilet)
-There was a lot of well-placed humor
-We start to see how the Ring affects Bilbo (even if it's not that true to the book)

Overall, I thought it was a great movie but a bad book adaptation, and a huge improvement over AUJ with how the story went along. However, AUJ still had pretty much all of the book elements, and I thought the absence of so much of the book in DoS made it feel like it was no longer Tolkien's book.
