i would just like to start by saying..... well dont peter jackson, you have successfully ruined my social life, but fret not, this is a good thing! i love this film so much. at the beginning when gandalf and thorin first meet in the prancing pony, it was just amazing how good the atmosphere was, and afterwards,it surely became more and more of an adventure as the film progressed. when they first encountered beorn, i was stunned by how good peter had portrayed him in comparison to the book, amazing. in the forest of mirkwood, when gandalf pulls off the growth on the elven statue and finds the eye of sauron, it was amazing because this is not in the book and peter has managed to add in lots of things, different storylines that wernt in the book, and this adds a completely new experience to the movie. when bilbo and the company encoounteres the spiders for the first time, i was very shocked at how real they looked. i am a bit of an arachnaphobic myself but i just couldnt help but watch this stroke of genious. --skipping way on to the end of the movie now, smaug....... i LOVE him so much. the way he is shown is amazing and i think that benedict cumberbatch did a great roll of voicing this beast, smaug the chiefest and greatest of calamities. the cliffhanger ending is nasty. i love it but its nasty in the sense that i have to wait a whole year for the nextone to come out, and that is nasty.
