We saw the film first in 3D then 2D. I thought the effects were great, but nothing was taken away by watching it in 2D. The pace of the film was good, and I felt that I was continuously engaged. The music was great, and I loved hearing some of the themes from LotR.

Martin Freeman is the perfect choice for Bilbo, and Richard Armitage was just amazing. All broody and sulky! I also loved the balance of action, adventure and humour.

We will be going to see again, at least twice more!!
