I was lucky enough to be able to see it in Imax hfr 3d with dolby atmos. It took about 5 minutes to get used to the hfr, exactly the same time it took to fall in love with it. Everything from exploring Erebor in it's glory days (and watching it fall) to seeing the familiar faces to witnessing my favorite childhood tale come to life worked with a magic that was truley beyond expectations. I was there, in Middle Earth, and it was great. Now, some might not take kindly to some of the liberties taken with the plot. I found that they only added to the experience. For one, and let me get this out of the way, the back stories that were not descibed in the original text were an absolute necessity. Radaghasts plot line I felt would only have been aided by more of it. I'm sure Peter will not dissapoint on that front in the future installments. Lastly, the plot twist with a certain Orc of old only has me itching for more. Let me put it strait. Tolkiens storytelling as portrayed by Jacksons filmaking are brilliant, both. The only downfall is having to wait one then a half years to witness the full scope of this grand adventure. Thank you to Jackson and team for all you do.
