Film Format Seen? 3D 48 fps
Will view again in a different format? Yes

Simply brilliant! I saw the film on opening night in the 48 fps 3D. I loved it all. I didn't get sick or feel queezy. The 3D was more noticeable than regular 3D movies. It took about 10 minutes for me to get used to the 48 fps but once I did, I almost forgot it was happening. It was all very fluid and natural. I felt like I was being fully immersed into this wonderful world yet again, in an even more real way.
Plot points: (spoilers!)
The way they opened the movie with old Bilbo explaining the story bothered me a bit. I wish they would have had Thorin tell it all to Bilbo that night. I suppose they changed this mainly to have Ian Holms and Elijah Wood back in it again, which I was glad of. But it felt like a prequel to a prequel. It took too long for them to get back into the real story with young Bilbo. I just didn't like it opening this way.
This was the biggest plot change that bothered me, although there were many. I haven't read the book in a bit and partly wish I would have had time to before the movie but at the same time I'm glad I didn't because I enjoyed the movie for what it was and didn't sit there and nitpick the slight changes they made. They included so much in this movie and even added some things for the better. I loved the White Council and think it sets up the future storyline well.
I have to say Martin Freeman blew me away. He WAS Bilbo Baggins, I don't know if there's ever been such perfect casting ever. He did such a marvelous job.
My favorite scene was the riddles between him and Gollum. I love both those characters and love how that scene really does impact every movie after it. It is the pivotal scene and I thought they did a spot on job with it.
I really really REALLY enjoyed this movie and I encourage everyone to go see it again! I certainly am! I missed Peter Jackson's cameo and I want to find it for myself! Happy Hobbit watching to you all!
