I've seen both the 3D 48fps and 2D 24fps versions. I prefer the latter, although the 3D 48fps version was fun and exciting. I thought it was a very successful adaptation, and Jackson/Jackson/Boyens again showed both their love of the source material and their understanding of what needed to be altered to construct a successful film narrative. The dwarves were all excellent. Can't wait to see more. (also loved Saruman's theme showing up for a few notes in Rivendell)
