I thought this movie and the work of Peter Jackson was wonderfully done to bring us Tolkien fans a large amount straight from the story line. I also really like the beginning scenes of Erebor and our glimpse of Smaug! The acting: I love you Martin Freeman. Bilbo is one of my favorite literary characters of all time, but when I heard Martin Freeman would be selected for Bilbo I was thrilled! He sure nailed it too! Along with Bilbo, Richard Armitage was a perfect match for Thorin as well! Then of course the wonderful Ian Mckellen and Andy Serkis were spectacular as ever! Which leads me to my next point, Riddles in the Dark! So beautifully done! I'd have to say this chaperter in the book is one of, if not my favorite, and I am so happy to say they got it! Most critics are saying the idea of the trilogy is unnecessary but if the third instalment gives Jackson more room to get more of the book in, then fine by me!The only few things that bothered me a bit were the story of Azog, and the reason behind the eagles helping out! However both pretty small within the entire story, I really enjoyed this film!Cannot wait to see it again and this time hopefully in 3D with 48FPS! Rachel
