Was little leery about seeing it in 48fps as it was a new experience (I dont like new experience's but Im working on it). Have to agree with another review I read which said HFR removes the cinematic experience/flickering that we're so used to but I definetly want to see it again in regular 24fps and maybe on IMAX. Im certain HFR will have its place in mainstream cinema as we go forth. Obviously the book is a different medium and so the screenplay had to change for the film, but I didnt like how Thranduil was portrayed as unsympathetic to the plight of the dwarves after Smaug came. The sequel will probably delve into this a bit further. I had certain expectations of the Lonely Mountain and Jackson certainly exceeded them. Kinda hoped the troll hoard and Elrond would provide more background into Biter, Beater and Sting after having read "The Hobbit" so many times after watching Fellowship back in 2001. Great cinematic experience that was as was this. Cant wait for Desolation!
