The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring took in $11.115 million on Thursday, up 14.5% from the $9.704 million it earned last Thursday. Though mid-week business during the holidays is always far greater than it is during the rest of the year, the bump-up is still impressive considering that the higher the gross the more difficult it is for a movie to maintain its altitude.

Rings' 9-day total stands at $119.112 million to rank #13 for the year so far. On the all time list, it stands at #161.
