Ringer Spy Spike goes shopping and ends up with a truckload of LOTR merchandise info. I'll let him tell you the rest:

I went into my local store today and I asked about the LOTR's models and the release date - the guy was pretty clued up. He reackoned they'd be out by late October, and he said 'Most probably the last weekend of the October, except the Balrog though, because you guys can't see him yet!'

so whether you guys knew or not i don't know...

Also, A guy who works in a hard-to-get-video store who said that 'Empire Magazine' reported that the LOTR animation, (Ralh Bakshi), will be released again to coincide with the films...hope thats news for ya.

I have recenty seen on the site www.hmv.co.uk on the forthcoming DVD list (which unfortunately has changed recently to show just the next couple of months ) that Warner Bros are set to re-release the Ralph Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings on VHS video and also DVD around November of this year, to coincide with the Theatrical release of FOTR.

I for one can't wait to buy this film, as I think it's wonderful. Capturing the 'dark' side of the books perfectly.
