Leon's a middle-aged Catholic bachelor, tormented by his sexual drive. He doesn't tell Rosa he's seen signs her husband is alive, and he begs her to love him. Rosa offers herself to Leon if he'll help a local Jew in hiding who needs money. Leon pays, and love between Rosa and him does develop, but then Leon's peasant subservience and his limited empathy lead to tragedy. At the war's end, a ray of sunshine comes from an unexpected place.

Brazil - The Criterion Collection (1985) Previously released by Criterion in a deluxe 3-disc special edition, Terry Gilliam's dark, dense science fiction fantasy gets a stripped-down single-disc edition. An absurdist nightmare of Kafka-esque dimensions, it's like "1984" rewritten by Monty Python, and this features Gilliam's definitive version of the film, culled from materials in numerous different release cuts, in a newly restored high-definition master and a remastered soundtrack. Doctor Who: Inferno - Episode 54 An experiment gone awry sends the Doctor (Jon Pertwee) to a parallel universe where his friends and companions are members of a fascist regime in this thrilling and popular episode from the long-running British science fiction series Doctor Who.
