We've had further confirmation that Lurtz is indeed played by rising Maori actor Lawrence Makoare. He's acting next to Temuera Morrison in 'Crooked Earth" and he's also appearing in a Maori-language version of "A Merchant of Venice," so he's a busy boy.

In "Crooked Earth" Makaore plays Kahu, a charismatic firebrand who has turned his village into a lawless dope-growing wasteland. Seems like he's getting typecast in the orc-leader roles...."
