Becoming King Kong - Weta Workshop : Workshop Weekend
1.30 – 4pm Prosthetics Seminar – Gino Acevedo

A prosthetics presentation aimed at those with a special interest in make-up for film. Weta Workshop’s Senior Prosthetics Supervisor and Visual Creature Effects Art Director Gino Acevedo will take a seminar in special make-up, prosthetics. Gino designed the prosthetic make-ups for Skull Island Natives on King Kong he also oversaw the special makeup requirements that Weta Workshop provided for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. This intensive presentation is aimed at those with a special interest in make-up for film. Cost NZ$35 dollars. Numbers:50 maximum. Photoshop Workshop & Prosthetics Seminar – Saturday August 11th
11am – 12.30pm: Photoshop Workshop– Greg Broadmore

Weta Workshop artist Greg Broadmore will take a hands-on Photoshop workshop. He will demonstrate the techniques he used to create the menacing Dinosaurs of Skull Island for King Kong. Limited to 20 people max. (NOTE:the workshop is aimed at those with a good understanding of Photoshop) Cost NZ$15 dollars. Becoming King Kong – Weta Workshop : Workshop Weekend
Sculpting Demonstration, Sunday 12th August, 11.00am – 1.30pm

Weta Workshop artist Bill Hunt, who sculpted many of the expressions for Kong, will demonstrate his extraordinary skills and give a demonstration, he will sculpt a face. Cost: NZ$15 Numbers: 50 maximum. NOTE: King Kong will be screening at Sky City each Sunday at 2.30pm, hence the timing of this workshop – allowing 1 hour between workshop and screening. Becoming King Kong - School Holiday programme
Monday 2 July, Tuesday 3 July or Friday 6 July, NZ$30, 8am – 5.30pm

As part of the Hutt City school holiday programme, children between 5–14years are invited to step into the very footsteps of the creators of “King Kong” The day-long programme will include a special tour of the exhibition, plenty of time to explore and ask questions and a hands-on creative workshop.
