Movie Reviews: Monaghan's 'Spivs'

The marks aren't the only ones fooled in "Spivs," a smart Cockney crimer centered on a band of grifters that keeps the audience on its toes plot-wise, even if its emotional underpinnings fail to convince. Though hardly household names overseas, the strong British cast, led by the reliable Ken Stott, shows good chemistry and helmer Colin Teague (co-director of "Shooters," 2002) assembles a smooth package in his first solo outing.
